ST 3703 THORNCOMBE FORE STREET, SOUTH SIDE 7/106 No 1 (Bonfield's Store) GV II House with attached wool store at rear. C18 with probably C17 core. Rubble walls with pebble-dash rendering. Asbestos tile roof, with gabled ends. Wooden doors at left and right of centre. Two storeys. Three window-range. Ground floor: disused shop front with wooden fascia and large glass panels. First floor: sash windows with wooden glazing-bars and frames. Interior: Deep-chamfered beam with tongued stops. Large open fireplace with wooden lintel over. Attached building at rear: rubble walls with C18 brick dressings. Corrugated iron roof. Four window-range, with concrete lintel over windows. No 1 Fore Street forms part of a group at the village centre.
