SE 53 NE CAWOOD CHURCH END (south side)

1/13 Goole Bank Farmhouse 17.11.66 (Formerly listed as Goole Bank House) GV II

House. Early-mid C18 with late Cl8-early C19 additions. Local narrow reddish-orange bricks, plain tile roof to front, plain and pantile roof to rear. Baffle entry now blocked, present direct entry between fourth and fifth bays. 2 storeys, 6 first floor windows. Moulded plinth. C19 4-panel door under radial fanlight. Sashes with glazing bars throughout, under segmental moulded pediments to ground floor only. Blocked smaller window above original entry under cambered arch. Dentilled eaves cornice. Main ridge stack between second and third bays from left, another between fourth and fifth. Dutch gable end to right. 2 storey stair turret to rear, blocked window to ground floor, sash with glazing bars to first floor, Later additions either side of stair turret, to left gable end projecting forewards beyond front facade. Interior: original panelling, beams and plank cut stair balusters, some doors may be original. 'North Yorkshire and Cleveland Vernacular Buildings Study Group Report, No 808'.
