SP42NE NORTH ASTON 6/275 North Aston Hall 08/12/55
GV II Country house. Probably late C18 by John Yenn incorporating some C17 work; Almost completely re-modelled c,1867. Coursed squared limestone and marlstone with ashlar dressings. Double-depth plan. Jacobethan style. 3 storeys. 10-window front, with moulded plinth, string courses and a pierced parapet, has transomed stone-mullioned windows; in bay 5 is a 5-sided 3-storey bay window breaking forward from a gable, in bay 2 a single-storey bay window, and between bays 8 and 9 a first-floor oriel window. Left end has a large canted bay window above a segmental-arched stone porch. Right end may include some C17 walling and has a mullioned cellar window.
