SHUTTINGTON ALVECOTE SK20SZ 5/101 Remains of Alvecote Priory 22/07/55 (Formerly listed as Alvecote Priory with remains of medieval walls to north-east and barn to west)

GV II

Priory ruins. Probably C14. Regular coursed sandstone. South wall has isolated central section approximately 5 metres high with doorway of 2 stop-moulded orders. Left return side has part of plain doorway. Right return side has part of stone mullioned window. To the north-east is a low fragment of wall, probably a remnant of the south wall of the monastic church. Scheduled as an Ancient Monument.
