THE MINT 1. 1092 No 21 SX 9192 NE 2/309 SX 9192 SE 5/309 29.1.53 II* 2. Part of St Nicholas Priory, said to, have been the Refectory. It is a 2 storey and attic stone building with a modern brick wall to the road where there was an arch across the street up to about 1850. the masonry, relieving arches, buttresses, etc, are ancient, and there is a 3-light oriel. A projecting external stone chimney has recently been rebuilt in flush brickwork. There is said to be an open C15 roof internally, and there may be other undiscovered features. Additions of C18 and other periods. Four windows on main front, mostly sashes with glazing bars. Slate roof with two dormers. Plaque to George Oliver, who lived here 1807-1861.
