STADHAMPTON THE GREEN SU6098 (South side) 14/161 The Stables

GV II

Farmhouse, now house. C17, altered early C18. Coursed limestone rubble with squared dressings; old plain-tile roof with brick ridge stack. 2-unit lobby-entry plan with rear outshut. 2 storeys plus attics. 2-window front has a central doorway, under a C20 tiled porch, and has large 3-light C18 casements in the outer bays; ground-floor openings have stone flat arches. Right gable wall has 2 ovolo-moulded 2-light stone-mullioned windows. Roof has large clustered stack in line with entrance. Interior not inspected. Rubble and weatherboarded outbuilding to left now forms part of dwelling.
