11/179 The Old Thatch - II

Cottage. C17. Timber framed; thatched roof; plastered integral end stack. 2 framed bays, hall in north-east bay and 2 small rooms in south-west bay entered from hall, possibly parlour and pantry. One-storey and attic, 2 square panels to eaves and short straight braces; 2 windows, casements, roof sweeps over the attic dormers; central door with rustic porch. Low C20 extension to left. Interior: Timber framed partition wall between the 2 bays and between the parlour and pantry; central chamfered ceiling beam in both bays; large open fireplace in north-east wall of hall; queen strut roof trusses with ridge piece and one pair of purlins, central truss has interrupted tie beam.
