TL 51 NE HATFIELD BROAD OAK BUSH END
4/45 High House Farmhouse
GV II
House, former farmhouse. C15. Timber framed and plastered. Of 2 storeys with gabled pegtile roofs over 2 parallel ranges. South range has off-centre small ridge line stack and slate lean-to at east end. Front has C20 gabled pegtile roofed enclosed porch and aluminium C20 casements. Rear pebble dashed range is mid C19 with end bargeboards and double hung sash windows some with one and some with 2 vertical glazing bars. Former in-line hall house with jowled posts heavy arched braces, soot blackening and remains of crown-post roof. Part of a board and muntin partition survives, probably of the C16.
