WINGFIELD WINGFIELD GREEN TM 27 NW 5/166 Corner Green Farmhouse - -- II
Farmhouse. C16. Timber framed, encased in C19 red brick except the right gable end which is still plastered. Roof of glazed black pantiles. 2 storeys and attic. 3-cell form. 4 windows, mid C20 casements. Lobby entrance: wide gabled porch and mid C20 door. Mid C20 half-door at service end. One raking dormer. Internal stack. To the right a brick lean-to with wide gabled porch. Modernised interior with partly exposed frame. Paired 4-centre arched service doorways survive in very good condition. Storey posts in hall have deep jowled heads. 2 blocked hall windows with cavetto and chamfered mullions. The first floor newel stairs have been removed but the attic flight is intact. Original roof with a single row of clasped purlins and cranked wind-bracing.
