WESTBURY WESTBURY LEIGH 1. 5411 (South-East Side) The Malthouse (Premises ST 8650 5/66 29.12.50. of H. Knee Limited) II GV
- Early C19. Large rectangular building of rubble stone with slate roof. The end facing road has a pair of oast houses in rectangular block, with 2 upper windows. 6 window at main floor level [and 2 lower windows, now blocked , arranged symmetrically; modern segmental brick heads to windows with modern glazing bar sashes. Recently converted]. The roof is arranged in a pair of steep pitched hipped slate squares swept up to vents at top. Remainder of buildings have irregular windows and doors. 2 and 3 storey double range of 8 bays to rear with standard mill windows (stone, segmental heads, central mullion ; pointed double Roman tiles, coped verges and saddlestones to north. Covered steps to right on East side; central barley hoist. The buildings form a subsidiary group of strong character.
