14/25 Wall around Kitchen Garden attached to The Old Coach House
GV II
Garden walls. Late C18. Brick with cut brick, tile and mortar coping. A wall runs from W corner of The Old Coach House (qv) and the other from 25 m. S of SE front, they are both 250 m long and converge on the 50 m long SW wall enclosing a hectare. The walls are 3 m high. The garden consists of 3 terraces, increasing in length away from the building with stone steps in the centre between terraces. Plan of garden walls dated 1787 exists in Huntingdon Library collection of Stowe records of the Duke of Buckingham.
