EXELBY, LEEMING WESTFIELD LANE SE 28 NE AND NEWTON (north side, off) 4/87 Barn (approximately 5 metres to left of Bromaking Grange) GV II Barn. Late C18. Red brick, with machine-tile roof. Central board waggon door with wooden lintel and brick segmental relieving arch. Above a diamond of ventilation holes. To either side a full length brick pilaster. To left another pilaster with diamonds of ventilation holes in between. To right, 2 more pilasters, one bay with ventilation holes and C20 window. Next bay has board door with segmental relieving arch. Far right bay has C20 window. End pilasters stepped eaves, brick coping. Rear has a larger waggon door similar to that at front. Interior: central cobbled threshing floor. Right-hand side now a cow house. Dovecote in left-hand gable.
