ST 8032-8132 MERE CHURCH STREET (south side) 6/46 Unidentified monument c.3 m north of south wall to churchyard of Church of St Michael

Coffin tomb. C17 or earlier. Sandstone. Shaped slab with steep sides carrying some bold lettering, but essential data not legible; begins 'SACRED to the Memory of.....' in sharp profiled Roman lettering. Characteristic of this form of monument.
