SP 4293 NE TOWN OF HINCKLEY THE BOROUGH (east side)

16/25 No. 5 (The Castle Restaurant)

GV II

House, now restaurant. Late C18 with later alterations. Plastered walls, slate roof and brick end stacks. 3 storeys with moulded cornice and fluted frieze continued on No. 3 The Borough (Fashion House) q.v.; reduced proportions to second floor. 3 bays; blind Venetian windows to first and second floors centre, glazing bar sashes to first floor left and right, and mid to late C19 4-pane sashes to second floor left and right. The side windows have rusticated plaster lintels. 1930's tiled restaurant front to ground floor, altered in C20.
