SP 5802 GARSINGTON SOUTHEND (West side) 8/48 No.4 (Manor Farmhouse) 19/07/63 - II

Farmhouse, now house. Early C18. Coursed limestone rubble with ashlar dressings; old plain-tile roof with brick gable stacks. Double depth plan. 2 storeys plus attics. Symmetrical 3-window front with a 2-light casement over the 6-panelled door flanked by 3-light casements and with three 2-light gabled roof-dormers. All windows have leaded lights. There are ashlar quoins a plinth, a flush storey-band, a stone eaves-cove, and the sides and head of the openings have roll-moulds Double-span roof with C20 infilling in the valley, and the entrance has a tiled, hipped hood. The rear elevation is similar with simpler details. C19 and C20 single-storey extensions to left. Interior: Altered but retains an open fireplace and two heavily moulded spine beams.
