LACOCK CHURCH STREET ST 9168 (south side) 4/59 Five monuments scattered in south west angle of churchyard of Church of St Cyriac GV II

Five chest tombs, C18 to early C19, ashlar. From north: a) East memorial: early C19 with plain side panels, reeded angles and high stepped cap topped by an urn of elongated oval shape. Inscription to Catherine East d 1819. b) Unidentified memorial, mid to later C18, heavily detailed with north side projected centre and raised egg-and-dart-bordered circular plaque. Fielded panelled strips each side. Fielded end panels in egg-and-dart frames and south side similar fielded centre plaque. Moulded base and cornice, broken forward at centre, with pulvinated frieze. c) Hancock memorial: early C19 with lozenge plaques, reeded angles, cornice with fluted frieze and high stepped cap. North inscription to S. Hancock, d 1818. d) Unidentified memorial, early to mid C18, with 2 shield plaques each side, fluted angle and centre piers, moulded base and cornice with pulvinated frieze broken forward over piers. e) Brinkworth memorial: earlier C19 with moulded lyre ends, moulded base and cornice, slab sides and 2 roundels to north with low-relief spandrel ornament. Inscription to William Brinkworth d 1833.
