Cambus-Kenneth Estate Danville, Kentucky

  • Comment by Argil Mahan on February 29, 2024

My 4th great grandparents John and Sara Clark Mahan owned property adjacent to Cambus-Kenneth. Some time probably in the 1840s the family cemetery where they are buried became located within the far NE boundaries of Cambus-Kenneth. I am told that sometime in 1950s the cemetery was destroyed by groundhogs and now has no visible markers. John died in 1830, Sara in 1838. John was a American Revolutionary War Veteran. Sara is the daughter of the Rev. Francis Clark. They bought their property (200 ac) from James Harrod in the 1700s. The Wilderness Road ran right through their property.
