Abraham Lincoln lived in this Springfield home with his family for 17 years, from 1844 until he left for the White House in 1861. The house was carefully preserved and has been a popular visitor attraction since it opened in 1887.

This 7,285-square-foot, double-gallery historic home on the St. Charles tram line dates from around 1900. It features pillars on both galleries and elaborate cornice brackets.

Vicksburg National Military Park

The Vicksburg National Military Park preserves the battlefield of the Vicksburg Campaign in the Civil War. The extensive park is dotted with over 1,400 monuments and memorials and includes a museum showcasing the ironclad ship U.S.S. Cairo.

Windsor Ruins

Only 23 crumbling Corinthian columns remain of the largest antebellum Greek Revival mansion in Mississippi. Designed by David Shroder for cotton planter Smith Daniell, the mansion was completed in 1861 as part of a vast plantation.

Brigham Young (1801-1877), was the second president of the Mormon Church and colonizer of Utah. During this time, Young was the predominent politcal and religious figure in Utah Territory.

Massie Common School House

The Massie Common School House was completed in 1856 to educate poor children. Today, it is a museum of Savannah history and architecture called the Massie Heritage Center.

Claiborne Cottage

This cottage at 2524 St. Charles Avenue was built in 1857 for Sophronie Louise Claiborne, daughter of Louisiana's first governor. Her Creole husband, de Marigny, was President of the Louisiana Senate.

Secession House (113 Craven Street)

The Secession House (a.k.a. Milton Maxcy House or Maxcy-Rhett House) was constructed c. 1815 in Federal style and remodeled c. 1850 in Greek Revival style. It is a contributing property in the Beaufort Historic District (building #1110).

Eleutherian College

Constructed 1854-56, Eleutherian College is the only remaining building associated with one of the first colleges west of the Allegheny Mountains to promote college-level equal educational experiences prior to the Civil War.
