    Founded in 1983, the Center for Beethoven Studies contains the largest collection of Beethoven materials outside of Europe, including rare manuscripts and locks of the composer's hair.

  • Beethoven House in Heiligenstadt 1802

    Beethoven stayed in this house on the northern outskirts of Vienna several times, including in the autumn of 1802 while writing his Second Symphony. The house is now a small museum operated by the Vienna City Historical Museum.

  • Beethoven Eroica House Vienna, Austria 1803

    Beethoven spent many of his summer months in the idyllic wine villages on the outskirts of Vienna. Tradition has it that he spent the summer of 1803, when he was mainly working on his third symphony, the "Eroica," here in Oberdöbling.
