Picture Bibles

Bibles which generally contain only illustrations, sometimes with short pieces of text. In the past, they were used to spread knowledge of the Bible to the uneducated. Numerous examples exist from the Middle Ages, although picture Bibles dating to the 11th and 12th centuries, as well as those dating as late as the 16th century, have been discovered. .
