Lebanon

Baalbeck, also known as Heliopolis, is an ancient Roman city in northeastern Lebanon. It is famed for the magnificent Temple of Jupiter, the largest Roman ruin in the world.

This major ancient Phoenician city hosted an early Christian community and later the Crusaders. It was in this area that Jesus healed a Syrian woman's daughter (Mark 7:24).
