St. Peter

Detail of the Last Judgment Tympanum (1107-1125) over the west door. St. Peter the Apostle, wearing a chasuble and holding the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven as well as a pastor's staff. He is part of a procession of saints and contemporary leaders on the left side of the tympanum, moving towards Christ in the center. Leading the procession to the right of Peter is the Virgin Mary; behind him is the hermit Dadon, founder of the first oratory at Conques.
