Taps is played on the bugle in the winter snow at Arlington National Cemetery
Feb 9, 2009 - A bugler from the U.S. Army Band "Pershing's Own" plays taps at the burial service Wednesday in Arlington National Cemetery for former Sgt. Maj. of the Army William G. Bainbridge.
"Taps" is played on the bugle or trumpet, at a distance (30-50 yards) from the grave site. During this time the “Final Salute” is given. (A shortage of qualified buglers has led to the use of prerecorded versions of the song being used. The group Bugles Across America is attempting to combat this practice.)
