Martyrs' Memorial, 1843

The Martyrs' Memorial in central Oxford, designed in the Gothic Revival style by Sir George Gilbert Scott and completed in 1843. It commemorates the "Oxford martyrs" - Anglican clerics Thomas Cranmer, Nicholas Ridley, Hugh Latimer, who were burned at the stake nearby in 1555 and 1556. On the right is the historic Randolph Hotel.
