I'm sorry about the lack of posts lately, but we're now in London for three nights and the itinerary looks to be slow enough to allow for more computer time. And my laptop now has a brand-new hard drive and is working well - a big thanks to David for that! So I'll try to finally post some photos tomorrow or the next day.
Briefly, though, we had a really great time in Oxford. We had beautiful sunny weather both days, stayed in a former prison in the Oxford Castle, and visited some old favorite places. I especially had a wonderful morning out taking pictures today - the light was magnificent, and I met a retired professor at Christ Church College who let me in a special garden behind the cathedral - it was heaven!
This afternoon we said a sad goodbye to our rental car at Heathrow Airport and took a cab to our hotel in London. It's a nice hotel located very close to the British Museum in the Bloomsbury area and we're happy here. We took a long walk down to the river in the sunshine, had good pizzas for dinner, and are now watching a show about the Vikings and about to collapse. Tomorrow is supposed to be cloudy and I intend to just visit a museum or two and get caught up on work. We'll see!
