May 24, 2009 Rapid City, SD to Buffalo, WY 238 mi (4 hours) (not including accidental detour) We loved Wyoming as much as we knew we would. Leaving South Dakota around 9:30am Sunday morning, we were soon over the border and on our way to Devils Tower National Monument. *Saturday, May 23, 2009 Rapid City to Deadwood and Mount Rushmore* On Saturday we took a long driving tour of Black Hills National Park and Mount Rushmore, ending back in Rapid City for another night. It was definitely the best part of South Dakota and we saw lots of interesting sights. The first sight was an unexpected one - a Norwegian stave church! *Friday, May 22, 2009 Wall, SD to Rapid City, SD 56 miles (50 minutes)* Clearly we didn't get far, but it was nice to have a relaxing day after all the driving. We slept well in our little motel in Wall. Our room was #29 at the top of the stairs. David got up early to explore "downtown." Here's his video tour.
