First Evening in Madrid

First Impressions of Spain *(this section was added later in the trip)* The first half of our trip was spent in central and southern Spain, which welcomed us with unseasonably cold weather the entire time. That was such a disappointment, but at least we had sunny Morocco to look forward to. And of course we had a good time anyway. This was the first time either of us had visited Spain, and as always some things turned out to be different than we expected...

Dorchester Abbey with the New Tripod

Yesterday we visited another nearby church, in large part to test out some new gadgets that David bought for our upcoming trip - a big tripod and remote-control clickers for both our cameras. We had a good time and confirmed what we had suspected about tripods - they are a pain in the rear and a make a bit of a scene, but do take better pictures. Below are just a few pics from the church, which is called Dorchester Abbey and is just 8 miles southeast of Oxford...

Bampton and Black Bourton

On Sunday we drove out to two nearby Oxfordshire villages to check out their old parish churches. This is actually a somewhat common hobby around these parts and is known as "church crawling" - much more fun than pub crawling, in my opinion. And you remember more of it, I imagine.
