Conques Abbey Images

Romanesque capital in the nave depicting the condemnation of Saint Foy. The girl saint appears on the right corner, supported by a cross-carrying angel on the right side. A man takes her by the arm and drags to appear before Dacien, the regional Roman governor (seated on the left corner). He sentences her to death, handing the sword of her martyrdom to an executioner. Behind Dacien on the left side lurks a devil holding a serpent. Credit: Holly Hayes. All Rights Reserved.
